De tryptamine N,N-dipropyltryptamine of DPT (C16H24N2) is een structurele homoloog van DMT of Dimethyltryptamine (C12H16N2). DPT staat erom bekend dat het langer duurt dan DMT en het nog meer ‘chaotische’ hersenscans oplevert. In eerste instantie komt altijd 1 woord bij veel anekdotische verhalen vaak naar voren: dat woord is ‘BIZAR’. In tweede instantie zouden er soms plotseling antwoorden komen en kan er blijkbaar tevens richting en duiding tot je komen. DPT-ervaringen worden onder andere ook besproken in het boek THIKAL van Alexander Shulgin (Tryptamines I Have Known And Loved). Hoe gedachten onder invloed van dipropyltryptamine in de hersenen worden aangepast is nog niet geheel duidelijk. Er is dus duidelijk nog veel meer onderzoek nodig naar deze research chemical.
