4F-PV8 is called by a few names, most commonly Para-Fluoro-PV8, 4-fluoro α-PHPP and 4-Fluooro PV8 (Hydrochloride). It is a close analogue for α-pyrrolidinopentiophenone. Because that chemical is restricted in a variety of jurisdictions, many researchers and chemists have turned to 4F-PV8 for many of the same purposes. Other alternatives include 4F-PVP and 4F-PHP.

Chemically, 4F-PV8 behaves in a very similar manner to most substituted cathinone stimulants. Little is known about its pharmacodynamics, but it is predicted to have a similar or stronger affinity for monoamine transporters compared to α-pyrrolidinopentiophenone, so it should have similar effects on dopamine serotonin and norepinephrine levels.

Other researchers have suggested that either diethylpropion or diethylcathinone would make a better model for structural reasons. Still others suggest that M-PPP (4’-methyl-α-pyrrolidinopropiophenone) is a closer match.

Does 4F-PV8 have any know side-effects?

There is very little published research on this particular research chemical, though some information can be surmised from the psychopharmacology of a range of related and/or chemically analogous molecules which have been more thoroughly researched.

Assuming values similar to other cathinone derivatives, then, 4F-PV8 can be expected to act as a psychostimulant. It should have primary effects such as increased focus and a feeling of mental energy, and it should act as a euphoric at certain dosages. Indeed, anecdotal evidence from (unadvised) human use suggests that this is the case.

Again, usage reports suggest the expected range of negative effects as well. These sometimes involve paranoia or hallucination, but are more often said to be limited to mild nausea and a distracting tingling sensation, at least at low dosages.

Is 4F-PV8 permitted in my country?

4F-PV8 is not, to the best of ChemicalFrog’s knowledge, banned in any major jurisdictions. However, it may fall under some of the least discriminate ‘blanket bans’ on substituted cathinones. It may also be considered an analogue of Methcathinone or Pyrovalerone in Australia or the United States.
